Fashion. Nissys, and Laughter
So I wanna apologize for being slow and not very active in my journal. (Neither this one or [personal profile] airah4 , which is a bit of rarity for me!!! ><) But it's exam week at my school here in Japan, and in addition, I have just started taking online classes back at my home university, so things sure are tough! But I promise I'm "ganbarimasu-ing"! ^_<

Anyway, I think some of you might remember, but last semester, Alex and I happened upon two young fashion designers in the Shinagawa Ito Yokado, who asked us to model for them and their clothes line!! (WHICH BY THE WAY....THEY JUST GOT BOUGHT BY ISETAN!!! THIS IS GREAT NEWS FOR THEM!!!! ^0^/ Congrats, Gondo-san and Saiki-san!!!!)

So this week they invited us to the International Fashion Show (the JFW-IFF) being held at the Tokyo Big Sight, and though it was a three-day event, we only just went today! It turns out that had we gone on Wednesday, when the event was being held, we would have been present the same time as Koji Seto, who was also attending the event for his new movie, Runway Beat! But we were sure we ran into a few celebs there anyway...the clothes were ridiculously gorgeous, and I don't think any of the people present were aware that Alex and I are really just small-town girls with not nearly enough money to pay for their awesome stuff.....We were very grateful (and lucky) to be there, but it felt nice to be treated like a celebrity, hahaha! Because we were two of the only gaijin there (especially twin gaijin) and had dressed especially nice for the event, we got a lot of pleasant encounters, and another kind designer has asked us to keep in touch, as he would like to ask us to model his line as well. His name's Takumi, so we've decided to call him Takumi-kun, hahaha. His style seems quite bohemian, and astounding, really original and fresh, and he's studied in Europe too, so we really commend him!

What a great day!

Here's the Tokyo Big Sight....alarming, right?

And we are also planning to attend Nishijima Takahiro's talk show in a few days if we can manage it!!! EXCITING!!! Glad to have something to look forward to after all this schoolwork is finally done!

And now before I go off to do the piles of schoolwork I have (T___T), I'll leave you with a Japanese gameshow that pawns life. (And made me LMAO in real life while I was having a tough day!! Enjoy!)

The best acts are 16:00 into the video, and then 17:00 in the video. I love those guys (and girls). XD

Lady Luck's January
Well guys, first of all, I wanna apologize for not responding as quickly/not doing as much commenting as I normally would. (T____T) I put up the Friending Meme and ended up having a BUNCH of stuff going on in real life right after that! Thankfully it's not bad stuff, just super duper busy stuff, but I'm looking forward to a big computer break at my school soon, and I'll get to do all my commenting then! <3 But I wanted to write this down because Alex and I just got a wealth of good luck all at once today. The ironic thing is that it always seems to happen this way....all at once at the end of our school semester, right after a big ol' pile of nasty luck has run us down for a while. So I'm really grateful for everything that has cropped up!

The first snow has finally hit Tokyo, though it has thankfully not hit the part of Tokyo Alex and I are living in! Still, it's gotten quite cold here, so we're hoping to pick up some proper jackets in our local mall, tomorrow. But we're also on a kind of mini-adventure to Miura City, where part of the Tumbling drama was filmed! We're actually doing it for our class' project....

So lately, we've been working a lot on a script for the drama we have been writing.....Not as much as we've been hoping to, but we at least got to get to a cafe today for a bit and at least consider some ideas. We worked a bit on it when we got home too. But it's been an odd experience with this script....we usually write it in a cafe, appease our appetites with some mango slices, Tiramisu lattes, and cafe sandwiches, and then get writing. The cafe is nice because unlike at home, we don't have the internet as a temptation, and the atmosphere is just so darn comfy! We were hoping to do a bit more writing in a cafe tomorrow, but since we have to get up early for our trip to Miura City, it probably won't happen. :-/

In addition, the modeling company that approached us last semester just wrote back to us tonight to let us know that they want us to go to an International Fashion Festival being held here in Tokyo, which is apparently the biggest fashion festival in the world.

...........

Well, I think that's a great opportunity, but I'll admit I'm a tad nervous. I expect that our Japanese will need to be much better, and I know very little about fashion. (Plus I've never particularly been a big fan of high fashion, nor ever considered myself possible material to "fit in" with the kind of crowd that is! ><) But we'll try our best, because we'll certainly go. The fashion/modeling company who invited us told us that we wouldn't otherwise be able to get in, so to let them know if we can attend so that they can meet us at the door. UWAAA. ><

And things get more interesting! So I checked out my favorite site for being an extra out here, and I discovered that there is more work available for people interested in being extras in TV shows and movies. (One is looking for cops!!!! Hehehehe~) But one that caught my eye was a large event geared towards young people interested in Japanese dramas. Here's what I translated from it so far, you won't even believe this:
  1. It's an event that is supported by D-Boys and their Management
  2. It's for students/graduates that want to be immediately involved in TV/Film productions
  3. They need people right now (it seems) to help with productions
  4. Many of the workers at the seminar are professionals currently working in the TV/Drama/Film business
  5. It seems to say that there is also some work lined up currently for interested people who attend
They highly recommended it for people interested in getting into this business, as they said more are needed!!! (Which actually makes some sense, since it seems most people here do the tough job hunt for business, not for film/TV/such!) I'm....I'm so mindblown!!!! We're definitely going to try to do it if we can, but the biggest fears I have right now is my Japanese speaking ability not being up to par and that we won't be around (in Japan) for when this event takes place, since we want to take a break and go home to see our family for a bit!

And then we just got a notification from the AAA Fanclub that we can be extras for AAA's live performance and mini-talk on Hey Hey Hey Music Champ! Naturally, we both applied for it, but you could only apply to be either part of the talk or the live performance, not both, so we both picked the "live performance", of course! It's been a while since we have seen them sing and dance live, and if we can get into this, we don't wanna pass that option up!!!! CROSSING OUR FINGERS!!!!

I've said this a lot of places, but how come all the good stuff happens at the end of the semester???? >< (I mean, not that there hasn't been good stuff earlier, but I mean, this end is always all at once, after a long, usually depressing silent period...)

So Alex and I are going to work hard on acting resumes soon, since we are planning to hand them into the various agencies we've looked up in Tokyo, before we leave! We do plan to come back, if we can manage it, so we'll pretend it's a "short leave of absence!" ^_<v And in addition, good news!!! We reached our 200th member on the AAA DW comm (it seems like a record for a fan community on DW!!! We're so proud!!!) and at the same time or so, we reached 200,000 hits!!!

Life is good! <3
